A three-month journey of students confronting questions with no single right answer.
Moments of uncertainty, hesitation, and inner conflict—
the camera captured it all.
A documentary following the activities of THE BLUE CAMP is now available.
This film closely follows the second cohort of THE BLUE CAMP, directed by filmmaker Ryoya Nishimura, portraying the students’ struggles, growth, and transformation over time.
THE BLUE CAMP is an educational program focused on the ocean and food culture, launched in 2023 with the goal of nurturing the next generation to help shape a sustainable future.
Sixteen selected students from across Japan explored the future of the ocean and food through lectures, fieldwork, and hands-on restaurant operations—learning to think, speak, and communicate in their own words.
As they grappled with questions without clear answers, the students sought to connect the ocean and society through their own voices.
Their determination and sincerity are etched into this film.
