In celebration of World Oceans Day, approximately 30 leading chefs from Chefs for the Blue came together to host “THE BLUE FEST”—a one-day event dedicated to experiencing the future of the ocean and food
A total of 260 guests were served an array of cross-genre sustainable seafood dishes, while talk sessions offered insights into the present state of our oceans and the path toward a more sustainable future.

Since its founding, Chefs for the Blue has held a shared vision: to gather member chefs, cook side by side, and create meaningful moments where guests can reflect on the future of the ocean and food. On June 8, World Oceans Day, that eight-year aspiration finally came to fruition.
In an unprecedented showcase of sustainable seafood cuisine, 32 chefs each presented their own interpretation of responsible seafood dishes. Together with 260 guests across lunch and dinner, we were honored to share an inspiring and memorable day.



The talk sessions were held in three parts.
In the first session, chefs shared candid reflections on their work to date and the realities facing our oceans. The second session welcomed producers from across Japan, fostering a dialogue that connected those who harvest from the sea with those who bring it to the table. In the third session, we were joined by the creative minds behind Chefs for the Blue’s branding, offering perspectives on how storytelling and design can inspire change.


We were also proud to present an exceptional drink selection, made possible through the generous support of producers, manufacturers, and retailers from around the country.

On the day of the event, members of the blue community and Blue Camp served as volunteer staff, making the gathering all the more meaningful. It was a moment that truly reflected how the Chefs for the Blue network has grown over the past eight years.
